Bodies of Meat and Light

HoloLens figure drawings, similar to my We are Haunting and Unraveling collections, Player Piano and Climb into Bed were site specific volumetric augmented reality drawings begun at the This Will Take Time Artist Residency in late 2017 . Only saveable as documentation the videos (post-production finished early 2018) explore not only the drawings relationships with their surrounding but also how my body shares that space with them. Player Piano flickers, jumps, and is reanimated when I climb inside and activate it with my own body. In Climb into Bed a gender ambiguous figure is arranged in a pose reminiscent from 19th century female nude paintings, but they aren't the only nude in the video. I climb into bed with them, attempting to touch their immaterial form, conjuring up ideas about consent, avatars, and touch across the digital divide.
