I am often forced to retreat to the dark quiet of my bed due to the symptoms of brain damage. This dance is all the movement I could muster on this day. It was creativity in restraints. I am curious about the difference in reception between this kind of work made within the limitations of disability, often label 'brave' or 'inspiring,' and work made by able bodied artists like Matthew Barney in his series Drawing Restraint, which creates artificial limitations.
