Hi Good Store!
Welcome to my portfolio. My name is M Eilo. I’m an artist and designer in San Francisco and a long time Nerdfighter.
I’m also Trans and Autistic. Why am I telling you that? Because Good Store cares about more that just products, you care about supporting precarious people with the power of your platform. And I want in.
I have 11 years experience in a variety of creative positions including:
Creative Director, Product Designer, Experience Designer, Art-based Researcher, Video Editor, Curator, and Teaching Artist.
I’ve worked with huge teams like Microsoft, Mozilla and SAP and on tiny teams like startups, contractors, and studios.
I’m impact pilled.
I spent the last 2 years defining and executing the creative direction of a product solving the Henrietta Lack gap by reconnecting patients to their donated bio-samples.

If work is like climbing a mountain, you want M in the lead. M has the ability to discover, test out, and report back on new ventures and technologies and they do so fearlessly.

Creative Strategy
I shine when facilitating new ideas going from mess to reality. My expertise is built from working across a wide variety of mediums to define and executing creative direction that connects with people.
Need to communicate a Pandemic Resilience Roadmap? I got you. Want a tarot deck that’s both physical and digital? Sure. Need a site for calm community engagement with science? No problem.
M’s superpower is starting from the most rudimentary of ideas, distilling complex ideas into sticky graphics, and bringing clarity to ambiguity…to name a few.

Product & Identity
I loooove crafting cohesive and compelling experiences with a mix of strategic thinking, imaginative execution, and a commitment to values.
Have a weird idea? I’m all ears. Want to make an personal knowledge management tool like like a 2D cozy game? Let’s absolutely go. Want to tell disabled stories in an animated short film about a fiction streamer? That’s my jam!
“M's ability to create visually stunning designs and translate complex ideas into easy-to-understand prototypes is truly remarkable. I am consistently impressed by M's attention to detail and the ability to ask the pertinent questions necessary for breakthrough innovation.”
-Taylor Black, Principal PgM Incubation Studio, Venture Ecosystem, Microsoft
Soc Meds
I will admit I am Sexy Yellowstone, Red Heads are Black now, Frog Butts Cake deep.
My favs have been creating lifestyle and fashion photoshoots, an illustrated campaign focused on speech about femme bodies, and talking head marketing for Leonardo.
Teamwork
I pride myself on my communication and collaboration skills. In particular I love facilitating communication with neurodivergent and disabled collaborators. The patience and care we take with each other always translates to care and warmth for our customers.
“M is simultaneously quirky and deeply serious in their approach to projects and people. They possess a great sense of humor, kindness, and joy in their work with others. They are clear about their working style and needs, which I've observed allows others to let down their guard and work in a nimble, iterative fashion.
M is highly collaborative, consistently looking for opportunities to step in and support colleagues. They have a role up their sleeves attitude, pitching in to get shit done.”

Nerdfighter cred
That one time I designed and built a 360 camera and used it to record a Hank and the Perfect Strangers concert from center stage!
